What is atmosphere control?

Fresh fruit keeps living after harvest: it breathes, produces ethylene and changes color and texture. An atmosphere control room manages the air around it (temperature, humidity, ethylene and CO₂) to steer that process in one of three directions. ZGROUP builds all three in containers: no construction, Thermo King refrigeration and real-time monitoring with ZTrack.

Ripening

Speeds up ripening and makes it even: bananas, avocados, mangoes and other climacteric fruit reach ready-to-eat on the day you need, for retail shelves or industrial processing.

Degreening

The same controls, used mainly on citrus: the peel turns from green to its natural color without changing the fruit inside.

Controlled atmosphere

The opposite effect: lower oxygen and higher CO₂ slow the fruit's respiration to extend the shelf life of stored produce.

Start or increase your capacity in no time: containerized, no construction.

Precise control

Temperature, humidity, ethylene and CO₂ adjusted in real time.

Uniform results

Every batch gets the same treatment, from the first box to the last.

Three applications

Frequently asked questions

It controls temperature, relative humidity (up to 95%) and dosed ethylene, with airflow that reaches every pallet. One unit runs three steps: it homogenizes the load to an even pulp temperature, ripens it with ethylene, then lowers the temperature to slow ripening and hold the fruit until it ships.
